The Club was formed in 1964 (originally as Eskdale Boys Club).
With sponsorship from Loanhead Miners the name changed to Loanhead Miners Boys Club and finally with the girl's section is now known as Loanhead Miners Youth FC (LMYFC).
The Club became 50 years in 2014.
LMYFC operate Soccer Tots Kids School for 3–5 year olds (on Saturday Mornings, indoors at Bayne Memorial Hall) along with 4x4s, Super '5s', 7-a-sides (ESSDA), 7-a-sides (SWF) and 11-a-side football (SERYFA).
LMYFC also fields a Walking Football team for the over 50s.
LMYFC hold the Scottish FA Quality Mark
and were the first in Midlothian to have Community Club Status.
LMYFC club colours are Sky Blue, Navy trimmings and Navy shorts;
The change strip is Yellow with Royal Blue shorts.
In May 2012 LMYFC represented Heart of Midlothian at the Scottish Cup Final v Hibernian (5-1).
The kids took part in a coaching session then paraded around Hampden with the Scottish Cup (and flag waving) before kick off.
